Manager of Packaging R&D - Mountain States
Our client is looking for a Manager of Packaging R&D to join a dynamic team
dedicated to creating exciting new packaging concepts and establishing process, protocol, and procedures in their growing packaging group. This position is responsible for designing, developing and specifying
primary and secondary packaging materials for new/existing products to meet customer objectives and launch timing.
This person will:
- Determine testing protocol and requirements to ensure quality performance of packaging materials. Conducts testing and provides reports on
shipping, stability, environmental and production line testing to management.
- Work closely with R&D, Marketing, Operations, Procurement and other logistics groups to supply specifications, samples, line trial materials and
information to assist them in executing project work on a timely basis, while maintaining quality conscious, cost effective packaging solutions.
- Identify and initiate cost savings projects. Establishes time lines and steps needed for project implementation. Reports on all project activity and
progress on a timely basis while monitoring responsiveness of suppliers to meet respective dates for production start-up.
- Work with suppliers to engineer/develop new prototype molds, dielines and start-up systems to support/justify capital expenditure. Approve all related specifications, drawings, testing and production start-up qualification of these related items.
Travel is 10-25%. The position requires a degree in Packaging and at least 8-15
years experience in food packaging R&D. the ideal candidate will have experience in managing multiple priority projects, a strong packaging engineering and development knowledge and expertise, and a
knowledge of flexible and rigid polymer/paper packaging structures. Some dairy experience is preferred.
Sr. Sensory Scientist-Southeastern US
This position will serve as a Sensory project leader on New Product Marketing and Brand
initiatives. The position requires an a self-starter, independent problem solver and decision maker who has the capability through interpersonal, time and resource management skills to manage the Sensory
portion of multiple projects. The ability to champion innovative ideas and to effectively guide them through the organization results in position success.
The key responsibility is to serve on project teams focused on creating or
improving the company’s products, processes and packages by providing consultation in the areas of discrimination, descriptive and consumer research congruent with project objectives. Additionally, the
position will support the establishment of Sensory specifications and shelf life for new products for which they are involved.
Individual will work in conjunction with other internal Sensory professionals to
achieve Sensory Strategic objectives. May coach temporary Sensory technicians or contractors and have responsibility for some laboratory functions including in-house panelist motivation, feedback and on-going

Operations and Engineering
Process Optimization Engineer-Louisiana
The Process Optimization Engineer is responsible for creating, developing and implementing standard
operating procedures across energy plant and refining processes. The PO Engineer will model, test and modify existing mechanical, electrical and instrumentation technologies to optimize energy and refining
efficiencies. He/she will train and mentor operators and engineers in best practices to ensure critical automatic, safety systems are in place. The position will be responsible for leading and developing Six Sigma
initiatives across power plant and refining operations to reduce energy, improve yield, reduce waste, raise quality and elevate productivity.
B.S. in Engineering is required.
He/she must have at least 15 years of successful, comprehensive experience in manufacturing
continuous processes field. Six Sigma Black Belt certification required. Control simulation software experience (e.g. from Aspentech family) required. Chartered/Professional Engineer license preferred.
Process and Project Development Engineer - Nebraska
This person provides support for production in two manufacturing business
units. The position will be responsible for “out of the box” solutions to processing problems and will execute technical and engineering projects of various size and scope which may include new product
development.
Key areas of focus include:
-Improvement to quality, yield, and processing cost
-Optimization of the existing processes
-Identification and implementation of new technologies and/ or products to accomplish the business goals
The candidate must be capable of managing projects at all levels to include lab
