Quality Assurance Manager-South

 Our client is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager for a large food plant.  Thermal processing is mandatory.  This person will develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes to assure their products meet or exceed company standards, regulatory guidelines, and customer expectations.  BS in Science (MS preferred) or related and at least 5 years experience needed.

 Business Scientist, Product Development

Position Overview:

This is a senior level R&D technical track position requiring broad-based experience in the research and development of nutritional ingredients. This position requires strong program and project management skills with a high level of technical creativity. A background including starch, lipid, or protein metabolism and a solid understanding of starch and starch processing is preferred.

Essential Job Functions:

High level of intuition and creativity in identifying and designing new ingredients based on customer, patent , scientific and business perspectives

Use knowledge and experience to lead and drive the development of novel, starch-derived nutritional ingredients

Supervise 2 degreed research chemists; manage various outside support labs

Function as technical liaison with internal support groups

Ability to drive projects from concept to hand off to commercialization teams

Ability to communicate complex technical information (formally and informally) to a variety of internal and external scientist and managers

Other Skills/Abilities:

Familiarity with various search engines for review of patents and primary technical literature

Good business acumen, maintain strong relationships with internal matrixed resource and external customers

Strong people skills

Education and Experience:

B.S./M.S. degree in Food Science or related technical field with 10+ yrs experience in developing ingredients or consumer products for the food industry; PhD degree with 5+ yrs experience

Sr. Feed Sales Representative

 We are looking for an experienced sales representative with experience calling on animal feed and supplement manufacturers.  This position is based in the Midwest.  This salesperson will call on animal feed and supplement companies.  He/she will be home based and travel to key accounts located primarily in the Midwest between Minneapolis and St. Louis.  The package includes:  Base, bonus, car allowance, and benefits.  A technical degree is required.

Key Account Manager – Pacific Northwest

.This position is responsible for developing and building relationships with key current and potential customers and accounts.  This position will manager all day to day account activities and prepare and implement strategic and tactical account development plans. 

This position requires strong project management, organizational, communication, interpersonal skills – influencing, resolving conflict, and creative problem solving skills, proven success in cross functional sales activities, the ability to work individually and in a team environment, and excellent oral and written communication skills. 

Travel is 50% of the time.  A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food or Agricultural Science or Engineering is necessary with a preference for science or engineering degrees.  10 years progressive technical sales and/or account executive experience in food ingredients industry is required as well.  The position is based in the pacific northwest and this person needs to based there or willing to relocate to the area.

Manager of Procurement - Ingredients & Packaging-Pacific NW

JOB PURPOSE: This position is responsible for the development of maximum value in the procurement of all food ingredients and packaging-related services. Develops and administers key supplier partnerships based upon measurable continuous improvements. Manages information and systems requirements essential for the smooth supply chain flow of materials and services as required by the production plans for all facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND INFLUENCE:

Sources ingredients and packaging material in compliance with specifications and process capabilities.

Provides key information on costing, material regulatory compliance and new products.

Leads vendor consolidation efforts on raw materials, ingredients and packaging.

Leads supplier certification process for raw materials and packaging.

Initiates long term agreements & alliances with emphasis on price stability.

Proactively manages supplier service, quality and availability issues for minimal impact on facilities.

Leads efforts to most effectively utilize internal information in the supply chain management of materials.

Develops ongoing purchasing strategies to optimize inventory investment, coordinates cost reduction and avoidance efforts.

Manages and communicates at-risk material inventory, insures packaging specifications are current.

Manages & coordinates supplier interface with internal functional areas.

Utilizes quarterly supplier scorecards to manage vendor performance and exceptions.

Delegates and appropriately prioritizes staff workloads, provide training to staff to meet business needs proactively.

Provides back-up for the Director of Procurement.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Technical Capability

Knowledge of food grade ingredients & packaging.

Understanding of the contracting process, pricing terms and conditions.

Understanding of all cost components that impact finished goods.

Ability to distinguish value versus price.

Understanding of good manufacturing practices, high degree of knowledge of food grade quality processes regarding raw materials.

Understanding of logistical and supply chain issues and trends.

Strong information system skills.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Four year Bachelor’s degree.

Eight years progressive purchasing experience.

Packaging and food ingredient exposure.

Three years progressive management and supervision of others.

    * 50% travel to domestic plants, Canada and Mexico.

Electrical Controls Engineer- Various Locations

Our client is looking for a strong electrical controls engineer with a minimum of 5 years of controls engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. A strong background with Allen Bradley and Wonderware. Significant experience with Process Control and Panel Design. This person must have good communication and team skills. Electrical Controls Engineer

Our client, a Fortune 500 food manufacturer is looking for an Electrical Controls Engineer that has experience developing PLC ladder logic and HMI programming for the following platforms: Allen-Bradley SLC500, PLC5, ControlLogix, and Allen-Bradley’s HMI's. Also exp. developing Wonderware InTouch applications and servo drive programming applications. Also experience with Industrial Ethernet and Communications Networks. Knowledge of Batch Processing and Packaging Systems is also needed. Electrical systems and standards including NEC, NFPA, and OSHA are necessary. This person will develop a 3-4 year control strategy for the plant and develop controls applications where needed. Trouble-shoot where required.
